VINYASA YOGA

OPEN LEVEL VINYASA
(30mins & 1hr – M, T, Th)

Vinyasa Yoga is style of yoga where the breath or prana (life force) is emphasized & combined with yoga poses to create seemless & sequential transitions between all postures. Focusing on the flow of energy, the class follows the natural rhythm of the breath. Pranayama or breathing exercises are incorporated in the class.

Open Level Vinyasa class is a vinyasa class for students of all levels. Using the fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga, different options and variations are offered for each pose, giving you the freedom to choose which level you feel like accomplishing in each pose.

INTERMEDIATE VINYASA
(60mins – T &Th)

Intermediate Vinyasa is for students who feel comfortable in Open Level Vinyasa and want to exercise their maximum mental & physical potential. This class offers challenging poses & sequences leading up to a peak pose varying in each class. The class rooted in the fundamentals of vinyasa yoga in sequencing, inviting you to flow & practice continuously with the assistance of your breath.

HATHA YOGA

OPEN LEVEL HATHA
(60mins – M & W)

Hatha Yoga is one of the oldest lineages in yoga. It focuses on spinal and skeletal alignment and emphasizing anatomy of each pose during class, allowing the body to correctly engage muscles in poses for longer periods of time. It is also the first style of yoga to introduce props such as blocks, bolsters & blankets to help assist proper alignment and muscular engagement. Due to high emphasis on anatomical alignment, poses are not sequenced in a specific way, allowing the student to stop or adjust their body or breath during the class.

Open Level Hatha yoga is an easy paced Hatha class open to all levels. It teaches the fundamentals of Hatha Yoga.

INTERMEDIATE HATHA
(60mins, T&Th)

Intermediate Hatha is for students who have mastered the fundamentals of Hatha Yoga and are looking to combine their new found knowledge of anatomical alignment with more challenging yoga poses. Poses are held for longer periods of time to build muscular strength & endurance.

POWER & SLOW FLOW

POWER FLOW
(30 mins & 1hr – T, W, Th)

Open to all levels, power flow combines powerful breathing techniques with strong, repetitive sequencing to get your blood flowing and your heart pumping! A high energy conditioning class that incorporates isomeric movement with yoga poses.

SLOW FLOW
(60mins – T &Th)

Slow flow is a slow paced yoga class combining vinyasa & restorative yoga poses & sequencing. We use the natural momentum in the body to move our limbs into simple yoga postures, with longer pauses & deeper breaths.

GENTLE YOGA
(30mins & 1hr – M, W, F)

Gentle Yoga is an easy paced yoga class that focuses on the fundamentals of yoga. We go through simple asanas (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing exercises) & end with a calming sound meditation.

An open level class with smooth transitions that gently strengthens the body while slowing the mind down.

SOUND MEDITATION
(30 mins & 1hr – T, Th, F)

Sound Meditation is a type of meditation that uses the power of sound to ease the mind & body into a deep meditative state. In this class students stay in Savasana or corpse pose, with their eyes closed in stillness for 30 mins to an hour.

Using traditional sound healing instruments such as the tibetan singing bowls & crystal singing bowls, we play gentle & soothing sound healing music that helps relieve cognitive, emotional & physical pain through positive sound frequencies. Doing sound meditation clears negative energy in our nervous system & release blocked energies through vibration. Rehabilitate your mind, body & soul in soothing & stress free environment.

We also offer special monthly New Moon & Full Moon sound meditations where we use multiple sound healing instruments travelled from various destinations around the world & play over an hour of positive healing sound vibrations. YOGA WITH SOUND HEALING
(60mins – Fri & Sat)

Yoga with Sound Healing is one of our speciality classes. A unique class where yoga poses are sequenced in time with live sound healing music, giving students an opportunity to exercise the benefits of yoga and sound healing at the same time. The class also incorporates Pranayama or breathing exercises with live sound healing music.

Together we work on our inner energy centers, or Chakras. We work on all seven chakras as the class progresses, all of which have specific frequencies that the sound healing instruments are tuned to. With the assistance of specific sound frequencies, the energy centers open and are easily accessible.

Take yoga & sound healing to get the maximum healing benefits you can get from both yoga asana and sound healing!

Join us for community yoga where we offer an Open Level Vinyasa class. All proceedings are towards Hum Yoga, a non-profit organization that focuses on raising awareness around social & environmental issues through the art & practice of yoga & sound healing. We create a safe space for people to come together and share their stories while learning the healing benefits of yoga & sound meditation.
